Turning on bookings

Why Bookings might be missing, and how to switch it on.

Bookings is one of the parts of CLEO you switch on when you want it. Plenty of businesses don't schedule anything, so CLEO doesn't assume you do.

Is it already on?

If Bookings is in your menu, it's on. If it isn't, one of two things is true: it was never switched on, or it was switched off later.

Bookings sits on top of the calendar, so the calendar has to be on first. The calendar is on for every business to begin with, so this rarely gets in the way — but if you turned the calendar off, Bookings shows as Unavailable, with a note saying it needs the calendar turned on first.

It may already have switched itself on

If you told CLEO your opening hours during setup, CLEO switched the calendar and Bookings on for you at that moment. Saying when you work is the same thing as saying you take appointments.

Turning it on yourself

Settings → Capabilities lists every part of CLEO, each with its state — Always on, on, off, or Unavailable — and a button. Find Bookings and press Turn on.

The page says what switching does, and doesn't do: Turning something off only hides it from your navigationnothing is ever deleted, and anything already stored stays.

What appears once it's on

  • Bookings in the menu, with what is next, what is today, and what is coming up.
  • Book an appointment wherever it makes sense: on the calendar, a customer's record, a piece of work.
  • Appointments waiting for an outcome, once their time has passed.
  • Scheduling settings, where you tell CLEO when you take bookings.

Turning it off again

The same button reads Turn off. If other parts of CLEO depend on it, CLEO names them first and asks you to confirm — nothing is deleted, and the parts leave your menu.

With Bookings on, the next step is telling CLEO when you normally take them — Hours, special dates and booking rules.
